Many people that create web sites typically work on high resolution computers. For this reason it is neccessary to check that pages created work effectively at lower screen resolutions. This is typically by changing the resolution of the computer or by guessing the size of the required window. The former is tedious and the latter is optimistically inaccurate. This handy window resizing guide is a background image that provides a set of templates for common screen sizes allowing the you to simply resize any application window. This allows you to quickly simulate lower screen resolutions without changing the computer configuration. This template is upwardly compatible with screens up to 2048×1536 pixels, therefore future proofing it. (Due to the large size of the image, a thumbnail of the image or a screenshot of it in use was not provided.)
Please select the guide in the format of your choice:
Set the image as your backdrop. For XWindows, we recommend using the program XV, which you probably already have. Ensure that image is centred and is not scaled. For XV type
xv -root -rmode 5 -bg EEEEEE -quit ~/size.gifor similar or add it to your XWindows login.
